Welcome to Lowther Parish Council Website

Lowther Parish is located in east Cumbria and consists of the villages of Hackthorpe, Lowther, Lowther Newtown, Melkinthorpe and Whale

Within the parish is Lowther Castle, the former home of the Lowther family and in recent years was home to Lowther Horse Trials, to which the Queen and Prince Philip regularly attended

Part of the parish falls within the Lake District National Park , a beautiful place to visit

Lowther Park is also home of the Kendal calling music festival in late July which is attended by 25,000 music fans.
